For your Dominion to accomplish anything you must produce resources. Planning an effective economy is crucial for ensuring you have the right resources at the right time.
Platinum
Platinum is used for a variety of things in your Dominion. All of the following tasks require Platinum: constructing new buildings, training military units, rezoning land, and exploring new land. Platinum can also be used to invest in your Castle Improvements.
There are two methods to produce Platinum: Alchemies and employed Peasants.
- Alchemies: Each Alchemy produces 45 Platinum per hour.
- Employed Peasants: Each employed Peasant produces 2.7 Platinum per hour.
How to increase Platinum production
There are many ways to increase your Dominion’s Platinum production. Aside from constructing Alchemies or increasing your employed Peasant population, you can also increase your hourly Platinum production with Spells, Castle Improvements, Technologies and Wonders of the World.
Spells
- Midas Touch: This spell increases your Dominion’s hourly Platinum production by 10% for 12 hours. All races can cast this spell.
- Alchemist Flame: This spell is exclusive to Firewalkers and increases each Alchemy in your Dominion’s hourly Platinum production by 15. This means each Alchemy produces 60 Platinum per hour (instead of 45) for 12 hours.
Castle Improvements
- Science: Investing in your castle’s Science will increase your Dominion’s total Platinum production by a percentage that scales with your Dominion’s land size.
- Keep: Investing your your castle’s Keep will increase your Dominion’s total Population size by a percentage that scales with your Dominion’s land size. By balancing your Peasant population and available jobs, you can ensure you are maximizing your Platinum income from Peasants. Each employed Peasant produces 2.7 Platinum per hour.
Technologies
- Banker’s Foresight: Acquiring this Technology will increase your Dominion’s Platinum production by 5%. Researching Banker’s Foresight first requires acquiring the “Farmer’s Growth” and “Miner’s Refining” Technologies.
- Treasure Hunt: Acquiring this Technology will increase your Dominion’s Platinum production by 12.5%. Researching Treasure Hunt first requires acquiring the “Spy Master” and “Banker’s Foresight” Technologies.

Food
Food is used to feed your Population. Both Peasants and Military units consume 0.25 Food per hour.
There are two methods to produce Food: Farms and Docks.
- Farms: Each Farm produces 80 Food per hour.
- Docks: Each Dock produces 35 Food per hour.
How to increase Food production
There are many ways to increase your Dominion’s Food production. Aside from constructing Farms or Docks, you can also increase your hourly Food production with Spells, Castle Improvements, Technologies and Wonders of the World. Your Dominion’s Prestige is also taken into account when determining your total Food production per hour.
Spells
- Gaia’s Watch: This spell increases your Dominion’s hourly Food production by 10% for 12 hours. All races can cast this spell.
- Gaia’s Blessing: This spell is exclusive to Wood Elves and increases your Dominion’s hourly Food production by 20% for 12 hours.
Castle Improvements
- Harbor: Investing in your castle’s Harbor will increase your Docks’s total Food production by a percentage that scales with your Dominion’s land size.
Technologies
- Farmer’s Growth: Acquiring this Technology will increase your Dominion’s Food production by 10%.

Prestige
Your Dominion’s total Prestige can increase or decrease your Food production per hour. At 250 Prestige there is no increase to your food production. Each additional point of Prestige increases your Dominion’s Food production per hour but not by very much. The formula for determining your Dominion’s Food production increase from Prestige is:

Lumber
Lumber is used to construct new buildings. Lumber can also be used to invest in your Castle Improvements.
Lumber is produced exclusively by Lumberyards.
- Lumberyards: Each Lumberyard produces 50 Lumber per hour.
How to increase Lumber production
There are only a few ways to increase your Dominion’s Lumber production. Aside from constructing Lumberyards, you can also increase your hourly Lumber production with Spells or Technologies.
Spells
- Gaia’s Blessing: This spell is exclusive to Wood Elves and increases your Dominion’s Lumber production by 10% for 12 hours.
Technologies
- Fruits of Labor: Acquiring this Technology will increase your Dominion’s Lumber production by 20%. Researching Fruits of Labor first requires acquiring the “Banker’s Foresight” and “Urban Planner” Technologies.
Mana
Mana is used to cast Spells.
Mana is produced exclusively by Towers.
- Towers: Each Tower produces 25 Mana per hour.
How to increase Mana production
There are only a few ways to increase your Dominion’s Mana production. Aside from constructing Towers, you can also increase your hourly Mana production with Technologies or Wonders of the World.

- Enchanted Lands: Acquiring this Technology will increase your Dominion’s Mana production by 15%. Researching Enchanted Lands first requires acquiring the “Master of Magi” and “Explorer’s Luck” Technologies.

Ore
Ore is used to train certain Military units. Ore can also be used to invest in your Castle Improvements.
Ore is produced exclusively by Ore Mines.
- Iron Mines: Each Iron Mine produces 60 Ore per hour.
How to increase Ore production
There are only a few ways to increase your Dominion’s Ore production. Aside from constructing Iron Mines, you can also increase your hourly Ore production with Spells, Technologies and Wonders of the World.
Spells
- Mining Strength: This spell increases your Dominion’s hourly Ore production by 10% for 12 hours. All races can cast this spell.
- Miner’s Sight: This spell is exclusive to Dwarves and increases your Dominion’s hourly Ore production by 20% for 12 hours. Miner’s Sight is not cumulative with Mining Strength.

- Fruits of Labor: Acquiring this Technology will increase your Dominion’s Ore production by 20%. Researching Fruits of Labor first requires acquiring the “Banker’s Foresight” and “Urban Planner” Technologies.

There are only a few ways to increase your Dominion’s Gem production. Aside from constructing Diamond Mines, you can also increase your hourly Gem production with certain Technologies.

- Miner’s Refining: Acquiring this Technology will increase your Dominion’s Gem production by 5%.
- Fruits of Labor: Acquiring this Technology will increase your Dominion’s Gem production by 10%. Researching Fruits of Labor first requires acquiring the “Banker’s Foresight” and “Urban Planner” Technologies.
Research Points
Research Points are used for acquiring new Technologies.
There are two methods to produce Research Points: Schools and conquering land by Invasion.
- Schools: Each School produces a minimum of 0.5 Research Points per hour.
- Conquering Land: Each acre of land conquered produces 20 Research Points for your Dominion when you successfully invade another Dominion.
How to increase Research Point production
There are no Spells, Castle Improvements, Technologies or Wonders of the World capable of modifying your Dominion’s Research Point production.
School Research Point Production Formula
Each School will always produce a minimum of 0.5 Research Points per hour. The actual Research Point production formula is:

Draftees
Draftees are used for training new Military units and Exploring new land.
Peasants in your Dominion are drafted into the Military at a rate of 1% per hour until your Draft Rate is reached.
How to increase Draftee production
There are two ways to increase your Dominion’s Draftee production: increasing the Draft Rate or increasing your Peasant population.
Setting the Draft Rate
You can set the Draft Rate of your Dominion to any percentage between 0% and 90% on the Military page. When your Dominion’s Draft Rate is equal to your Dominion’s percentage of military units then Peasants will cease to be drafted and you will no longer acquire new Draftees. Setting your Draft Rate is an important part of every Dominion’s first turn.
Increasing your Dominion’s Peasant population
There are two ways your Dominion can increase its total Peasant population: increasing your population total or population growth rate. While increasing your Dominion’s total population is more helpful overall, increasing your Dominion’s population growth rate can ensure that your available land is quickly filled with new Peasants thus allowing more Draftees to be acquired each hour.
